The S4i IB can now be connected directly to a wireless Casambi network with the release of our USB Casambi Gateway.
The dedicated gateway is designed to connect to the IB Host via USB and connect to a wireless Casambi networks directly without having to resort to protocol conversion and the limitation and costs that these impose.
The Gateway is Casambi enabled by virtue of having a Casambi CBM-003 chip within, allowing it to be paired directly to any wireless Casambi mesh network.
Once connected to the S4i IB and paired to a Casambi network, all nodes can be mapped to other supported systems, and the IB XAPI API, XBAC BACNET and MQTT for third party control system integration.

hereUSB Cables & Extending OptionsAlways use good quality USB cablesUsing poor quality cables will give you no end of problems - it's just not worth it !
Note - there is a limit to the length a USB connection can be run.
Using a good quality "active" USB cable between 20-30 meters is possible
Using a USB CAT6, or HDBaseT active extender between 50-70 meters is possible
USB can be extended over Ethernet to provide up to 90 meters over Cat6/a cable
Connectivity
As with any other Casambi enabled product, the USB Gateway should not be placed in a metal enclosure or next to large metal structures. Metal will effectively block radio signals which are crucial to reliable operation of the product.
A thorough connectivity testing is strongly recommended in the installation site.
